Meet Mary Calvillo
Mary Calvillo is proud to call Platte County home, where she has lived for the past 28 years. This deep connection to the community, combined with her extensive professional background, has prepared her well to serve as County Clerk.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Southwest Missouri State University (SMSU), majoring in Personnel Management (Human Resources) and International Marketing. This educational foundation in human resources, organizational leadership, and business principles has been complemented by more than two decades of hands-on experience in office management, executive assistance, administrative operations, and customer service.
These roles have sharpened her skills in precise record-keeping, efficient process management, clear and professional communication, strong organizational leadership, and dedicated attention to detail—qualities directly aligned with the responsibilities of Platte County Clerk.
Mary is committed to managing county records with accuracy and integrity, supporting county operations smoothly and transparently, and always placing the needs of Platte County residents first.

My name is Mary Calvillo, and I am proud to call Platte County home. For 35 years I’ve lived in the Kansas City area, with 28 of those years right here in Platte County. With a strong professional background in office management, executive assistance, and customer service, I’ve developed the organizational, communication, and leadership skills essential for serving effectively as County Clerk. These experiences have prepared me to manage records accurately, support county operations efficiently, and prioritize the needs of our residents.

I’m running for Platte County Clerk because I am deeply passionate about transparent, accountable, and people-centered government. Platte County deserves leadership that puts constituents first—ensuring honest representation, fair processes, and accessible services. If elected, I pledge to:
Maintain the highest standards of integrity and never support self-awarded pay increases.
Streamline communication around Senior Tax Freeze and The Homestead Tax Credit Act, for tax payer clarity.
The Clerk’s office will be open until 5pm to better serve working families.
